About us
Byron Analytics is a tight-knit alliance of specialists in operational consulting, business analysis and software engineering — focused exclusively on the steel processing industry since 1998.
Founded in 1998 as Shanti Software, Byron Analytics was built around a single conviction: that steel processing businesses needed software that grew with them, maintained by a team embedded in the same industry — not a licence sold and forgotten.
Over the following 25 years, that conviction became the Pulse platform, a set of partnerships that are now measured in decades, and a reputation built entirely on the quality of work and the longevity of results.
We measure our client relationships in decades, not contracts. The question we ask at every engagement is not what does the client need now — but what will they need in five years.
When something goes wrong, you speak to the person who built it. When something needs changing, it happens the same day. That level of service is only possible at a certain scale — and we have chosen that scale deliberately.
We work exclusively in steel processing. No generalist consulting, no reselling, no offshore handoffs. When you talk to us, you're talking to the people who wrote the code and know your industry.
The team
Byron Analytics is built around a core team of experienced, hands-on specialists. We don't have account managers — when you work with us, you work directly with the people doing the work.
John is the founder of Byron Analytics and the original creator of the Pulse system. As our Systems Consultant and lead Software Engineer, he has been the constant thread running through every client engagement, every major feature, and every line of the Pulse codebase since 1998.
With 25 years spent working directly with steel processing businesses — walking the floor, sitting with estimators, watching operators work — John has absorbed an understanding of the industry that no amount of requirements documentation can replicate. It shows from the first conversation. That depth of knowledge is what Pulse is built on, and what keeps it ahead.
Denis is our Business Consultant and Project Manager, responsible for ensuring that every client engagement is delivered cleanly, on time, and with minimal disruption to their operations. He bridges the gap between how a business operates and how its software needs to work — a skill that comes from decades of doing exactly that at scale.
His background spans international investment banking, where he managed large programmes of work including the ANZ internet development team — a team of over 100 IT professionals with an annual budget of $20M. That enterprise-grade rigour, applied to the focused world of steel processing software, is what allows Byron Analytics to handle complex multi-site deployments with confidence.
Kobi is our Lead Developer and the driving force behind Pulse's modern technical capabilities. He brings the right blend of deep software craftsmanship and enthusiasm for emerging technology — a combination that keeps the platform evolving without losing the reliability our clients depend on.
His particular strength is integration: connecting Pulse to the broader ecosystem of tools that modern steel businesses rely on — from SigmaNEST and accounting packages to mail servers, OCR processing, and the Pulse Android mobile app. Where other systems require manual bridges between disconnected tools, Kobi's work makes Pulse the connected centre of everything.
We are not just a supplier of services. We aspire to genuinely partner with our clients — helping them maximise the potential of their businesses through software that evolves with them.
