What we do
Byron Analytics specialise in the design, development, maintenance and support of custom software solutions for the steel industry. Every engagement is a long-term relationship — we are with you from first deployment through to the life of your business.
We have been working closely with managers and staff on the floor since 1998. We understand that in most cases you already know what needs fixing — our job is to translate your problems and ideas into tangible, working systems.
Our systems consultant has spent decades working with owners, production managers and CAD operators across steel job shops. New clients regularly say: "You already know our job." That's not an accident — it's many years of focused industry experience.
Our business consultant brings experience consulting to the banking industry, managing large programmes of work for ANZ's internet development team — including teams of over 100 IT professionals and annual development budgets of $20M.
We analyse your workflows end-to-end and design solutions that fit your specific business rules — not a generic template adapted to suit. Every engagement begins with thorough discovery, and every recommendation is grounded in practical experience.
We maintain an ongoing consultancy relationship with every client, ensuring systems evolve as the business grows. Our oldest deployment is from 1999 and is still actively enhanced every month — that's what a genuine partnership looks like.
Custom software is what we are about — providing you with the exact solution you need to get your business running the way you want. We employ a small, dedicated team of professional developers committed to high-quality software delivered in a timely, cost-effective manner.
Each client receives their own independent codebase derived from the Pulse core. Your system matches your exact business rules — nothing generic, nothing compromised. This is our key offering, and one that no reseller of off-the-shelf software can match.
New requirements are implemented in the shortest possible timeframe. High-priority changes can often be delivered the same day — because we wrote the code, we know every part of it, and there are no third-party dependencies holding things up.
From the database layer and server-side logic through to the user interface, mobile apps and external integrations — including SigmaNEST, accounting packages, mail servers and OCR processing — our team covers the full stack in-house.
Development is ongoing, not project-based. Pulse has been in continuous development since 1999. New features, performance improvements and industry-specific refinements are released regularly to every client — keeping your system at the leading edge.
"Custom software without ongoing development is just a snapshot of what you needed the day it was written. The systems that create lasting value are the ones that keep evolving."
Byron Analytics — our development philosophyThe success of any software system is largely dependent on the level of maintenance and support it receives. This is the area where larger software companies — and especially resellers — most often fall short. It is the area we focus on hardest.
Support is provided by the same person who knows your system intimately. You are not raising tickets into a generic queue — you are speaking directly with a developer who understands your specific codebase, your business processes and your history.
Any program issue is generally fixed and rolled out the same day it occurs. Because we own the code and maintain a small, focused client base, there are no internal handoffs or escalation processes standing between a problem and its solution.
In order to provide the best level of maintenance and support, we deliberately maintain a small number of clients. This is not a limitation — it is a commitment. It is the only way to deliver the quality and responsiveness we believe every client deserves.
We monitor system behaviour and data integrity across our client base, surfacing issues before they affect operations. Our Data Integrity reporting module within Pulse actively alerts users to discrepancies — catching problems early rather than late.
Training is a critical factor in the success of any software system. A well-configured platform delivers its full value only when the team using it is genuinely proficient. We provide structured, role-specific training that gets your staff confident and capable — fast.
Training is tailored to each role — sales staff, production managers, estimators, machine operators and accounts teams each receive sessions focused on the modules and workflows most relevant to them. No time is wasted on content that doesn't apply.
We deliver training both on-site at your facility and remotely, depending on what works best for your team. We are experienced at onboarding teams across multiple sites simultaneously, including multi-site deployments across Australia and New Zealand.
As your business grows and staff change, we are available to onboard new team members at any point. Ongoing access to training is included as part of our service relationship — there are no additional fees for getting new staff up to speed.
When significant new features are released — such as the Pulse Mobile App or the SIMS email integration — we run dedicated training sessions to ensure your team is maximising the value of new capabilities from day one.
Software without ongoing service degrades. We don't sell licences and walk away. Every client relationship is a continuous engagement, and our systems evolve with the businesses they serve.
Your codebase is your own. Each client receives an independent system derived from the Pulse core — configured to your exact business rules, not adapted from a generic template.
Our track record speaks for itself. 100% client retention, across two countries, with partnerships stretching back to 1999. The numbers reflect a simple fact: this approach works.
Ready to discuss how our services fit your operation? We take on a small number of clients and give each one our full attention — if the fit is right, we'd like to talk.
